Extramammary Paget’s Disease of Penis and Scrotum

Abstract

|
Extramammary Paget’s disease of the scrotum and penis is extremely rare intra-epithelial tumor. Patients present with pruritus and pain associated with an erythematous, eczematous or ulcerated plaque-like lesion. There is often a delay in diagnosis of extramammary Paget’s disease until treatment failure for more common benign diseases. Since Crocker reported the first case in 1889, a few cases have been reported in English journals that can be searched by Medline. Hence, concerning the carcinoma in situ, Extramammary Paget’s disease must be differentiated from benign papulosquamous diseases. We report a case of extramammary Paget’s disease, diagnosis was confirmed as extramammary Paget’s disease of the scrotum and penis by histopathological examination and treated by wide excision of skin lesion and a mesh graft. The patient recovered without complication, and there was no evidence of recurrence after 12 months of follow-up.
